The Associate Director of Restaurant Operations supports the operational and financial performance of O&B location(s), working closely with Directors, General Managers, and cross-functional partners. This role helps ensure O&B values, policies, procedures, and standards are consistently upheld. The primary focus of this position is to drive profitability, support the development of our management teams, and contribute to achieving operational excellence across assigned units.

The Day to Day:

  • Support the planning, evaluation, and monitoring of operations and financial areas within multiple restaurants to maximize sales and profitability through effective execution of company programs and adherence to operational standards.
  • Partner with restaurant leadership teams to coach, guide, and hold them accountable to financial budgets, targets, and performance metrics.
  • Monitor operating expenses across restaurants to ensure effective cost-containment practices are in place and aligned with industry benchmarks.
  • Understand, follow, and help reinforce all O&B values, policies, and procedures across assigned units.
  • Assist in the rollout, communication, and adoption of new corporate initiatives, operational programs, and strategic decisions.
  • Identify inefficiencies or operational gaps at the restaurant level and collaborate with Directors and members of the executive leadership team to implement improvements.
  • Review guest feedback analysis and support restaurant leaders in completing vision workbooks, developing action plans, and setting measurable goals.
  • Conduct regular check-ins and meetings with Restaurant Managers to provide feedback, support goal setting, and evaluate progress.
  • Assist with recruitment, workforce planning, and the movement of talent across multiple units.
  • Support the development of a strong management pipeline, including onboarding, training, career progression, and ongoing learning for new and existing managers.
  • Contribute to the creation and delivery of recognition programs for management and staff, both formal and informal.
  • Share best practices across restaurants to enhance operational performance and elevate guest satisfaction.

Qualifications
  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in Business, Marketing, Culinary Management, Hospitality, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5–7 years of progressive experience in restaurant management.
  • Demonstrated success as a multi-year General Manager or equivalent leadership role.
  • Proven track record of achieving financial results and improving operational performance.
  • Strong leadership abilities with experience coaching, developing, and motivating teams.
  • Solid working knowledge of hospitality industry principles, methods, and operational best practices.
  • Ability to evaluate and enhance food and beverage operations, support policy development, and help implement operational strategies.
  • Highly flexible with strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively across diverse teams and environments.
  • Strong coaching, training, and mentoring capabilities.
  • Knowledge of cost analysis, budgeting techniques, and fiscal management.
  • Legally eligible to work in Canada
