JOB DESCRIPTION
As a key member of the IT team, you will have a direct impact on the design and enhancements that ensure the digital experience exceeds the expectations of the enterprise. You will ensure that network operations are efficient and secure by supporting and maintaining the lifecycle on network services and solutions.

All successful applicants must meet requirements for Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP), Canadian Government Security clearance, and U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Investigate and resolve complex technical issues related to the networking component of the J.D. Irving Limited infrastructure
  • Act as an escalation point to manage all required vendor and external technical resources to effectively troubleshoot issues
  • Provide subject matter expertise as the networking resource on a wide variety of internal and customer facing technology projects, supporting organizational standards
  • Optimize existing systems related to performance and capacity and identify opportunities for improvement
  • Research, understand and implement security protocols
  • Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedure documentation for all networking solutions
  • Lead and oversee day-to-day networking activities and contribute to long term operational planning and activities
  • Participate in the on-call rotation for production support
  • Responsibilities include managing and supporting a range of networking tools and technologies, including Cisco Catalyst Center, Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE), OpManager, Netscaler load balancing technologies, Cisco Firepower Management Center (FMC), Meraki, and Cisco WiFi. Familiarity with networking concepts in Microsoft Azure is considered a strong asset

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Education Required: A university degree, college diploma or a related discipline
  • 4+ years of hands-on network administration and operations related experience in a large, distributed environment
  • Ability to pivot to changing priorities and make quick decisions with limited information
  • Work well in a team environment with a focus on knowledge sharing and collaboration
  • Effective customer service and communication skills

  • CCNA, CCNP certifications
  • Meraki, and Check Point certifications
  • ITIL Foundations certified
  • Experience in network tools and technologies like Cisco ISE, Cisco Catalyst, Wireless, Meraki, OpManager
  • Programming or scripting skills
  • Leading Change experience
  • Lean yellow/green belt certifications (or other process improvement experience)
