JOB DESCRIPTION
The Junior Project Controls Specialist is a subject matter expert in the design, maintenance, and operation of an effective program performance management system. The Senior Project Controls Specialist is engaged with multiple stakeholders internally, performing a wide variety of activities associated with EVM and program reporting. Such activities include performance management system maintenance, support to performance surveillance, and conducting trend analysis. This position must develop and maintain a rigorous and committed drumbeat of consistent project controls functions including internal and external reporting requirements as required by the specific needs of the program.
RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintaining a Performance Measurement Baseline (PMB) within the EVMS including configuration control of the PMB through application of Baseline Change Requests.
  • Weekly and periodic processing of EVMS data.
  • Producing program performance reports, which could include trend analysis, for various stakeholder.
  • Provide customer support and help to stakeholders, including Control Account Managers, to improve their understanding of program performance management techniques.
  • Identification of, and participation in, continuous improvement activities as it relates to continual refinement of program performance management.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 1-2 years of experience in a construction or manufacturing environment, or equivalent experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in business, science, engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • Familiarity with EVM and Project Control techniques and systems considered an asset.
  • PMP certification, leadership training, and or lean six sigma training are all considered assets.
  • Familiarity with EVM systems such as EcoSys, Cobra, or other considered an asset.
  • Familiarity with Enterprise Resource Planning software such as JD Edwards or SAP, and scheduling software such as Primavera P6 considered an asset.
  • Standard capability in Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Advanced skills in MS Office tools especially MS Excel and Power Query is considered a strong asset.
  • Communication skills including presentation skills.
  • Ability to work with multiple stakeholders internally in a dynamic environment.

Due to the nature of work Irving Shipbuilding does, all successful applicants must meet requirements for the Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP), Canadian Government Security clearance, and U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
Please note this position requires a full-time, in-office presence.
