JOB DESCRIPTION
The HR & LR Specialist position exists to support employee relations by addressing mid-level HR inquiries and full employee life cycle. The HR & LR Specialist focuses on process improvement and efficiency to help the HR & LR department function more smoothly, reducing bottlenecks and improving service delivery. The role leverages specialized knowledge in HRIS and data analysis to provide valuable insights and improvements.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support employee relations by addressing HR inquiries and issues.
- Support full employee life cycle, advising employees at various stages of employment from recruitment and onboarding to departure. Single point of contact for HR needs.
- Support HR and LR projects as assigned i.e. attendance management, probationary review, Return to work committee, technology enhancement projects, Collective Agreement implementation, Drug and Alcohol policy, etc.
- Conduct data analysis to identify workforce trends and opportunities for enhancing HR operations.
- Utilize expertise in HR Information Systems (HRIS) to streamline workflows and analyze data for better decision-making.
- Provide information to employees and managers on HR policies, programs, and procedures. Resolve HR inquiries or escalates to the appropriate individual for further advice depending on severity.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business, Organizational Development, or related field.
- Minimum 5 years' of experience in Human Resources.
- Knowledge of ethical practices in Labor Relations and understanding of legal implications for various labor-related decisions
- Experience working with HR information systems
