JOB DESCRIPTION
J. D. Irving, Limited is a leader in the Maritime forest products industry known for its commitment to safety, quality products, service, and sound environmental management. Woodlot Services Professionals negotiate deals to secure and purchase stumpage from private woodlot owners around the province of Nova Scotia.
RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Purchase 50,000 mtons of stumpage from private woodlots in Nova Scotia on an annual basis
  • Achieve >90% customer satisfaction from woodlot owner clients
  • Work with landowners on providing Forest Management advice and Silviculture follow-up recommendations
  • Oversee production/delivery of wood products to ensure JDI best forestry practices are applied and to achieve Woodlot Services objectives
  • Inspecting/cruising woodlots on a daily basis

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Strong knowledge of Nova Scotia's forested land-base is required
  • Experience/knowledge in harvesting systems and road construction
  • Good knowledge of GIS and standard Microsoft software
  • Excellent communication skills
  • A customer focused mindset
  • Able to apply diplomacy and tact
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Good business acumen and professional comportment
