RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Strategic Leadership: Set the vision and strategic direction for the engineering department, aligning technical goals with Kent Homes' overall business objectives.
  • Organizational Development: Build and scale a high-performing engineering organization by recruiting top talent, developing leadership within the team, and fostering a culture of excellence and innovation.
  • Executive Collaboration: Partner with executive leadership and other department heads to drive cross-functional initiatives, ensuring engineering priorities support company-wide goals.
  • Project Oversight: Provide executive oversight on all engineering projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
  • Innovation & Technical Excellence: Champion cutting-edge engineering practices and technologies that enhance product quality, sustainability, and customer satisfaction.
  • Quality & Compliance: Ensure all engineering work complies with industry regulations, safety standards, and Kent Homes' rigorous quality benchmarks.
  • Mentorship & Talent Development: Cultivate a strong mentorship culture, supporting the professional growth of engineering leaders and fostering continuous learning across the team.
  • Process Optimization: Lead continuous improvement initiatives to streamline engineering workflows, enhance productivity, and drive operational efficiency.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. A Master's degree or MBA is a strong asset.
  • Experience: 10+ years of progressive engineering experience, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role. Experience in modular construction, manufacturing, or large-scale building projects is highly desirable.
  • Leadership Acumen: Demonstrated success in leading large, multidisciplinary engineering teams and managing complex, high-impact projects.
  • Strategic Thinking: Ability to think long-term, align engineering initiatives with business strategy, and drive organizational change.
  • Technical Expertise: Deep understanding of engineering principles, building codes, and design software such as Revit, AutoCAD, or BIM.
  • Communication Skills: Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate at all levels of the organization.
  • Results-Oriented: A proactive, data-driven leader with a strong focus on outcomes, quality, and continuous improvement.
