JOB DESCRIPTION
The Compliance Lead, Data Management is the primary contact for government customer, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders on data protection and compliance with legal, regulatory, and project requirements and policies. accountable leading the effort to ensure that ISI's data management practices comply with relevant laws, regulations, internal policies, and contracts. Ensures data compliance is present in processes, tools, scopes of work, deliverables, and databases. Oversight of internal and subcontractor compliance related to shipyard data management in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and maintain a data compliance framework for the auditing, monitoring and enforcement of data management policies, standards, and best practices. Work closely with IT, Legal, and business units to integrate data compliance for the people, technology, and processes involved in data asset management.
- Develop and execute training plans and awareness campaigns supporting the data compliance framework.
- Conduct audits and assessments of data handling practices and data inventory to ensure the quality and integrity of data are upheld. Verify that the correct identification and categorization is applied from data creation and collection and maintained throughout the lifecycle. Report performance and issue resolution for non-conformances, gaps, and risks to a suitable resolution.
- Tailor statements of work requirements as appropriate for different subcontract categories and review aspects of subcontractor proposals. Negotiate SOWs during procurement process resolve of any issues once under contract, including vendor compliance to third-party data sharing agreements relating to intellectual property (IP).
- Manage the administration and maintenance of project specific data compliance processing databases, reports, and plans. Review subcontract deliverables databases, reports, and plans, and rectify non-conformances in accordance with the subcontract.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in related discipline (e.g. Business, Engineering) or comparable professional experience.
- Extensive experience working in a government facing role.
- Shipbuilding and/or manufacturing knowledge.
- Records and Information Management, Information Governance, or Data Protection Professional certification considered an asset.
- Stakeholder and Change Management.
- Experience with working within a cross functional project, including interacting with Engineering and Supply Chain.
- Windchill Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) experience.
- Conflict Management & Resolution, Auditing, Stakeholder management and education.
- Development, management, and delivery of compliance deliverables, ensuring adherence to the contractual and regulatory obligations.
