JOB DESCRIPTION
The Manager, Material Planning, will develop and execute strategies and establish and oversee processes in relation to inventory, materials management, and material resource planning systems to support production schedules and meet customer demands efficiently over the next 1-2 years.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and implement an Inventory Policy to govern inventory decisions and monitor resulting performance.
- Develop and implement initiatives to reduce loss and damage of materials throughout lifecycle.
- Develop and implement review procedures for non-conforming material to ensure quality material availability.
- Ensure completion of inventory management and control programs, including cycle-counting and loss prevention
- Develop and implement processes to improve material system data integrity
- Provide subject matter expertise and recommendations regarding use of Material Requirements Planning system
- Monitor material system/data performance and implement initiatives to improve
- Develop and implement team member competency development to ensure team development and continuous improvement.
- Facilitate an environment for team members to have sufficient business exposure for well-rounded development.
- Review upcoming production schedules for material availability ensuring material will be available for production.
- Review overall material requirements to ensure materials are efficiently planned to be purchased/received per production schedules.
- Develop and utilize capacity planning tools to ensure adequate resources are available to support forecasted demands.
- Develop and implement plans to support customer Inventory Management requirements
- Develop and implement initiatives to improve material availability
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's Degree in related discipline (e.g. Business, Finance, Engineering)
- Professional Certifications preferred, not required (CITT, SCMP, P.Log, PMP, etc.)
- Professional level knowledge of Supply Chain and Inventory Management
- Experience and knowledge of Project Management, Business Systems and Data Analytics
