JOB DESCRIPTION
Atlantic Wallboard is currently accepting applications for a Maintenance Engineer to join the Maintenance department. The Maintenance Engineer will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day preventive maintenance and reliability programs. The successful candidate will improve equipment performance while providing a safe and clean environment for our employees.
RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work in a team environment to coordinate and schedule preventive maintenance, repairs and inspections of our manufacturing equipment.
  • Assess equipment operation and analyze maintenance data to develop strategies to increase reliability and plant up-time
  • Work directly with operations to prioritize maintenance activities and provide feedback
  • Manage and participate in improvement projects centered around maintenance and reliability
  • Create job scopes and work plans, collaborating with maintenance technicians.
  • Manage vendor relationships, including monitoring service levels, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards
  • Act as a safety coach, providing guidance on risk mitigation
  • Act as a job sponsor for contractors during maintenance shutdowns and scheduled repairs
  • Ensure compliance with all environmental, health, and safety policies
  • Monitor and manage maintenance related budgets, including forecasting expenses, tracking expenditures, and identifying cost saving opportunities

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Electrical)
  • Preferably 3 years of experience in reliability engineering or maintenance
  • Experience with project management, job planning/scheduling, working with/managing contractors.
  • Experience in evaluating proposals and reading engineering drawings considered and asset.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Project, Excel, Word, Teams, and Work Order Management would be an asset
  • Shutdown experience will be considered an asset
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced team environment
  • Commitment to continuous education as needed
