Full Time from June – September; Part-time work available in the off season.
Meridian63° is a new off-grid cabin rental company located in the hills of Bonshaw, PEI, offering unique nature-based experiences. We're seeking a hands-on and organized Cabin Host to join our team, dedicated to providing clean, cozy accommodations and unforgettable getaways for our guests. As a Cabin Host at Meridian63°, you'll play a key role in ensuring our guests have a wonderful stay in our off-grid cabins nestled in the beautiful Bonshaw Hills.
Responsibilities:
Property Management
- Ensure cleanliness and upkeep of our four off-grid cabins, communal washrooms, and public areas to provide a welcoming environment for our guests.
- Handle laundry duties efficiently to ensure that linens and other essentials are fresh and readily available for guest use.
- Assist with outdoor maintenance tasks, including grass cutting, tidying, and landscaping to preserve the natural beauty of our surroundings in the Strathgartney Park.
- Manage inventory of essential supplies such as cleaning products, linens, and firewood, and proactively restock as needed to meet guest needs.
- Undertake minor maintenance tasks including cleaning cabin exteriors, painting, changing light bulbs, and addressing minor plumbing issues to maintain the cabins in optimal condition.
- Welcome guests during check-ins, providing personalized information about the property, nearby attractions, and available activities to enhance their stay.
- Provide assistance to guests in lighting fires in wood-burning fire pits and delivering firewood and supplies as needed.
- Collaborate closely with the team to ensure smooth operations, address any guest concerns promptly, and maintain high levels of guest satisfaction.
- Enjoy the outdoors as this role involves significant outdoor work, making it ideal for individuals who appreciate nature and physical activity.
Potential Additional Responsibilities (Based on Qualifications & Interest)
Administration & Marketing
- Manage administrative tasks including reservation management, rates, and guest correspondence to ensure smooth booking processes and exceptional guest experiences.
- Assist in developing and implementing sales and marketing strategies to attract new guests and promote repeat visits.
- Engage with guests before, during, and after their stay to ensure their needs are met and to gather feedback for continuous improvement.
Qualifications:
- A tourism degree is beneficial but not required; relevant experience or a passion for hospitality and guest services is highly valued.
- Strong organizational skills to efficiently manage tasks and ensure smooth operations.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to engage with guests in a professional, friendly, and accommodating manner.
- Problem-solving abilities to address guest requests promptly and handle minor repairs or issues as they arise.
- Full-time availability from June through September and part-time availability in the shoulder season.
- Capability to perform moderate lifting and physical labor required for outdoor maintenance tasks and guest assistance.
- Enjoyment of outdoor activities and physical work, ideal for individuals who appreciate nature and hands-on tasks.
- Previous experience in hospitality or customer service is preferred but not essential; a willingness to learn and adapt is key.
- Flexibility to work holidays, evenings, and weekends as required to accommodate guest needs and operational demands.
- Reliable transportation to and from the worksite is required.
Compensation:
Hourly wage of $17-$20 based on experience.
