Job Description:

What is "mystery shopping?"

Mystery shopping is a method of evaluating businesses and service-providers. It's used to assess the quality of products, customer service, employee performance, etc. Many businesses employ mystery shoppers to ensure that standards of service are being met. For this position, Mystery Shoppers between the ages of 19 and 25 will visit stores that sell alcohol to test whether ID is being checked appropriately.

How does the mystery shopping process at Forum Research work?

The mystery shopping division of Forum Research is called, "Service Metrics." Each month, the Service Metrics Helpdesk will email you a list of all available "shops" in your area. This list will show the stores that need to be visited and tested for Id compliance before the month is over.

Service Metrics operates an online portal where Mystery Shoppers can create a profile to track the shops assigned to them, and report their findings after a visit.

What are my responsibilities as a Mystery Shopper?

Once you have received the list of available shops from the Helpdesk, your job is to do the following:

1. Let us know via email which shops you can complete (in other words, which store(s) can you visit?)
2. Before the month is over, visit the store(s) assigned to you and make a purchase.
3. Login to your Shopper profile and complete a questionnaire detailing your experience at each store.
4. Upload and attach supporting documents (receipts, pics, etc.) to each questionnaire you complete.

Which shops you do, and when you do them during each month, is up to you. The products you purchase are yours to keep . Shops typically take no more than 20 minutes to complete (10 minutes in-store and 10 minutes online). This is a great opportunity to make extra money and/or save money on items you already want!

How much will I earn?

For each shop you complete, you'll earn a flat rate of $15. Additionally, you'll receive reimbursement for the item(s) you purchase at each store (maximum reimbursement is $10).

  • This means that if you spend $5 at a store, you'll earn the flat rate ($15) plus $5 (reimbursement). In this example your total compensation would be $20.
  • If you spend $15 at a store, you'll earn the flat rate plus the maximum reimbursement of $10. Your total compensation in this example would be $25.

*Additional compensation for travel outside of your area is available and can be negotiated on a case-by-case basis. The stores we need to visit are located across the province. Access to a vehicle and a driver's license are a benefit!

How do I apply?

Just respond to this post! Resumes / CV's are appreciated, but not required. We are eager to connect with you! Please remember – You must be between 19 and 25 years of age for this position.

Thanks very much for your time and consideration! We hope to hear from you.
