About the Job:

As a Recreation & Parks Labourer, you will work under the direct supervision of the Director of Recreation & Parks and alongside the Recreation staff. Your duties will include mowing and trimming grass in waterfront areas, parks, nature trails, and around municipal buildings. Daily tasks will also include watering community flower boxes, maintaining and lining ballfields and soccer fields for summer programs, and assisting with special events and annual festivals. Additionally, you will be responsible for cleaning and maintaining arena facilities, including painting and minor repairs, as well as maintaining international garden areas and flower beds through weeding and mulching.

  • Be a resident of New Brunswick (must have lived in New Brunswick for at least 6 months) or a First Nation community in New Brunswick;

  • NOT be an immediate family member (spouse, children, parent, brother or sister) of the employer;
  • Be a high school student entering grade 10, 11, or 12 in September 2024; OR
  • Be a full-time Grade 12, university or college student in the current academic year of 2023-2024 AND attending a post-secondary institution full-time in the fall of 2024.
