About the Job:

As a Children's Program Assistant at Liberty Lane Inc., you will work closely with our Child Guidance team to provide parent assistance and daily management of children's programs. You will research, develop, plan, and deliver structured trauma-informed activities to promote social skills, emotional regulation, resilience, positive mental health & well-being, healthy relationships, and boundaries. Your role will involve creating a safe and supportive environment where children can learn and practice self-regulation skills, coping strategies, communication, problem-solving skills, self-esteem, and assertiveness. You will also ensure the safety and security of all children, residents, staff, and volunteers, establish playroom rules and routines, maintain a clean playroom, and gather information on external children's programs to promote socialization in the community. Additionally, you will monitor and document children's progress in programs and provide childcare services when needed.

A candidate (student) must:

  • Be a resident of New Brunswick (must have lived in New Brunswick for at least 6 months) or a First Nation community in New Brunswick;
  • Be eligible to work in Canada (must have a valid SIN number);
  • NOT be an immediate family member (spouse, children, parent, brother or sister) of the employer;
  • Be a high school student entering grade 10, 11, or 12 in September 2024; OR
  • Be a full-time Grade 12, university or college student in the current academic year of 2023-2024 AND attending a post-secondary institution full-time in the fall of 2024.
