About the Job:

As a Community & Volunteer Engagement Coordinator at Hospice SENB, you will play a vital role in recruiting, training, and managing volunteers in the community, at Maison Albert House, and at Boutique Hospice Shoppe. You will engage with palliative residents and their families, support our Narrative Care volunteers, and assist with our End-of-Life Wishes program. Additionally, you will research and identify opportunities to engage with local communities, recruit new volunteers, promote awareness of hospice services, and foster partnerships. You will work closely with our multi-disciplinary staff team to brainstorm and develop new opportunities, and effectively communicate with volunteers and stakeholders. You must be comfortable discussing topics such as death and dying, grief and bereavement, and educating the public about Hospice SENB programs and services. Other duties as required.

A candidate (student) must:

  • Be a resident of New Brunswick (must have lived in New Brunswick for at least 6 months) or a First Nation community in New Brunswick;
  • Be eligible to work in Canada (must have a valid SIN number);
  • NOT be an immediate family member (spouse, children, parent, brother or sister) of the employer;
  • Be a high school student entering grade 10, 11, or 12 in September 2024; OR
  • Be a full-time Grade 12, university or college student in the current academic year of 2023-2024 AND attending a post-secondary institution full-time in the fall of 2024.
