About the Job:

As a Gallery Assistant, you will be responsible for planning, preparing, and instructing weekly art camps for children and youth during July and August at the River Art Centre in Florenceville-Bristol. You will have the opportunity to co-instruct with artists and art educators, providing mentorship, enrichment, and support to camp participants. In addition to art camp duties, you will also be involved in administrative gallery responsibilities such as reception, answering calls, promoting exhibitions and artists, registration for programming and events, art sales, gallery installations, and office administration tasks.

A candidate (student) must:

  • Be a resident of New Brunswick (must have lived in New Brunswick for at least 6 months) or a First Nation community in New Brunswick;
  • Be eligible to work in Canada (must have a valid SIN number);
  • NOT be an immediate family member (spouse, children, parent, brother or sister) of the employer;
  • Be a high school student entering grade 10, 11, or 12 in September 2024; OR
  • Be a full-time Grade 12, university or college student in the current academic year of 2023-2024 AND attending a post-secondary institution full-time in the fall of 2024.
