Our Summer Students play an important role in keeping our mill productive, all while getting the chance to learn and earn in a safe production environment. You work with our production teams to make sure we produce lumber safely and efficiently, including clean up and spark watch. We are looking for Summer Students to join our largest sawmill, located in High Level, Alberta. Our High Level Lumber Division safely and sustainably produces forest products for customers around the world so they can build their homes and their communities.
Our ideal candidate has the following qualifications:
- Must be 18 years of age and completed 1 full year of post-secondary education immediately preceding the summer employment term and planning to return to full time studies in the fall.
- Commitment to working safely coupled with strong communication & interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work a variety of shifts, including weekdays and weekends, in a physically demanding industrial environment.
- Ability to work independently with little supervision.

In this role, you will:
- Work collaboratively across your team, utilizing your strong communication skills.
- Bring an unwavering commitment to safety to keep yourself, our operators and other employees safe.
- With your strong work ethic, you will work a variety of shifts, including evenings and weekends, in a physically demanding industrial environment.
- Perform spark watch duties on various projects and perform general clean up as required throughout the site.
- Contribute to the safety of the site by immediately bringing any questions or concerns to the supervisor.
