YMCA Glenn Carpenter Center is a non-denominational day camp, open to all.

The Opportunity:

The Program Coordinator will ensure that all children and youth programs provide quality care, service and support to the participants and their families. The Program Coordinator will provide leadership in the set-up and day-to-day operational activities including the management and supervision of a staff team. The Program Coordinator will provide leadership and stability in the development and direct delivery of programs.

Responsibilities:

  • Effectively plan, organize and supervise daily Day Camp programming and activities.
  • Employ inclusive and adaptive programming principles to cater to all participating youth and resource additional support as deemed necessary.
  • To greet, engage in conversation, manage family communication and provide exceptional Y experiences.
  • To accurately track participant participation on a daily basis.
  • To have knowledge of all programs and services the Y offers.
  • To complete required administrative tasks related to the operation of the Day Camp program.
  • Maintain a professional work environment, adhering to all policies and processes.
  • Adhere to YMCA Child Protection Policies
  • Supervise and organize staff up to 15 people.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • On going or completed Bachelors Degree, Community College diploma or similar from accredited institution.
  • Previous experience in a Day Camp, Childcare, Afterschool and Youth Programs an asset.
  • Possess a strong work ethic and excellent organization skills
  • An excellent team player able to share cooperative leadership with other staff.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • First Aid and CPR Certification required by start date.
  • L.S and N.L.S Waterfront Certification is an asset.

Required:

  • Employment is contingent on having a clean Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Search.
