Operations Summer Student 4-month Term Slave Lake, Alberta


Our Oriented Strand Board (OSB) mills offer Summer Students the chance to learn and earn in a safe production environment. You will work with our production teams to produce OSB safely and efficiently, while learning from the best and saving up for the next year of studies. We are looking for Operations Summer Students at our Athabasca OSB division, located in Slave Lake, Alberta. This state-of-the-art facility has the longest continuous press In North America, giving us the ability to produce a diverse range of innovative forest products for customers around the world.
Our ideal candidate has the following qualifications:

  • Must be an active post-secondary student, returning to school in fall 2024.
  • Commitment to working safely coupled with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and with a team.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Previous experience in a forest products environment is an asset.

In this role you will:

  • Work independently and as part of a high-performance team dedicated to safely and efficiently producing OSB.
  • Perform a variety of labour duties to increase productivity and reduce safety risks.
  • Monitor performance in your area and troubleshoot any issues that come up.
  • Work a variety of shifts, including weekdays and weekends.

About Slave Lake

Our Athabasca Division is located two and a half hours northwest of Edmonton, Alberta close to the town of Slave Lake. Slave Lake is home to over 6,000 people.
