KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • The Program Assistant supports the smooth operation of clerical activities within the Program of The Family Support Fund
  • Support project-related activities and tasks within the FSF program, including:
    • Assisting with initiatives related to the Application process
    • Supporting communication plans and client and family engagement initiatives
  • Support with clerical duties in administrating the Family Support Fund, including receiving and sorting applications and receipts, entering information into databases, prepare documents for financial processing, and responding to inquiries

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Customer service related experience
  • Good communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Empathetic and professional customer service skills
  • Applicable knowledge of client and family-centred care
  • Account/bookkeeping experience
  • A well cultivated critical thinker who gathers and assesses relevant information, thinks open-mindedly and communicates effectively with others in figuring out solutions to complex problems
  • Proactive, with exceptional organizational skills
  • High level of attention to detail
  • Works collaboratively within a team environment
  • Skilled and comfortable with MS 2010 Office Products: Excel, Word, Power Point, and Outlook
  • Experience with database platforms an assessment
  • High school diploma and some additional education around health administration.

Additional Requirements

  • This position is funded through a government program, which creates job opportunities for youth; therefore, eligible candidates for this position must be:

    • Youth between the ages of 15 and 30 (at the start of the employment)
    • Canadian citizens, permanent residents, or have official refugee protection status under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act; and
    • Legally entitled to work in Canada
    • Youth hired for a CSJ-funded job should not be already employed full-time by the organization. However, a youth working part-time for an employer, or who has previously worked for an employer as part of a Co-op placement is eligible for a CSJ-funded job
