Summary of Job Description
The Summer Education and Day Camp Activity Programmer will develop and deliver a day camp program for individuals ages 6-12. The program will focus on preventing learning loss for students and improving education skills. The programs will focus on literacy, numeracy, science, art and health and incorporate many fun and engaging activities. The Programmer will work with a team to develop a curriculum. The programs will also focus on building social connections and resilience. The programs will be supported by NorWest Co-op Community Health Centre Resource Centre teams. Programs will run Monday to Friday 10-3pm. Applicants must be between 16 and 24 years old.
Qualifications
- High school diploma would be preferred.
- Experience working with youth.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Empathetic, non-judgemental approach.
- Knowledge and experience with diverse cultures and economic backgrounds.
- Experience in recreation or nutrition is an asset.
- Experience or knowledge of program development and education.
- Experience with program delivery, especially with youth programming.
- Valid driver's license and access to a vehicle is an asset.
Length of Contract, Wage, and Hours
Multiple positions, 8 weeks of employment, 30-37.5 hours/week, $15.30 per hour Term of 8 weeks from end of June to August
Hours are scheduled as Monday to Friday 9am to 4:30pm
