University Legal Services is seeking a Records Clerk to assist with filing, scanning, and archiving highly confidential documents. The University Legal Services portfolio includes Legal Services, Office of the Secretariat, Protected Disclosure and Research Integrity Office, and Employee Labour Relations.

The position will report to the Paralegal in the University Legal Services office. Funding will be provided to an individual who is looking for summer internship work, learning opportunities, and work experience through the Government of Canada Summer Jobs Program. This is a great opportunity for a student to obtain experience and exposure to an internal Legal Services office that will provide exposure to university governance and labour relations.

Qualifications / Requirements:

• High School Diploma.
• Proven organizational skills.
• Effective oral and written communication.
• Exceptional interpersonal and active listening skills, including cultural safety and competency.
• Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
• Proven ability to synthesize information.
• Ability to exercise tact, discretion, and confidentiality.
• Effective time management skills, including ability to meet timelines and deadlines.
• Accuracy and attention to detail.
• Ability to set priorities and deadlines.
• Excellent computer skills, including experience with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Self-directed, innovative, and able to work under minimal direction.
• Ability to safely lift up to 10lbs.
• Experience maintaining legal files preferred.
• Experience with SharePoint preferred.
• Experience working in an academic environment preferred.
