Spark Power, a trusted partner in energy in North America, seeking an experienced Health and Safety Coordinator to join our Health and Safety team for a 6-month term contract position. This role will be based in Hamilton and support one of our current projects. This position reports to the National Health and Safety Manager. The Health & Safety Coordinator is responsible for ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and policies, conducting risk assessments, providing training to employees, and investigating incidents. What will you do as a Health and Safety Specialist at Spark Power? Engage with the functional business leaders within the organization as their health and safety resource. Responsible for occupational health, safety, and injury prevention to ensure compliance with relevant legislation. Conduct site visits to provide HSE guidance, assess risk, inspect and maintain COR certification. Provide coaching to employees on safety protocols, emergency procedures, and the proper use of safety equipment. Knowledge of all applicable Health and Safety Legislation and Regulations and the demonstrated ability to interpret and apply the legislation. Experience in Health and Safety Policy writing, or technical writing is an asset. Working knowledge of several software applications, including Microsoft Office Suite and additional software solutions.
