Our client outside the Ottawa area is recruiting a Director of Finance to lead their manufacturing business to great heights! This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy leading and mentoring others but are also comfortable rolling up their sleeves.

Reporting to the CFO, the Director of Finance is deeply involved in the organization's procedures and operating methods and is responsible for accounting and reporting tasks, internal controls, business processes, as well as ensuring compliance with legal and governmental requirements. The Director of Finance aids in providing financial oversight and leadership to drive profitable, sustainable business growth.

The Director of Finance needs to be a leader capable of using their financial skillset to demonstrate credibility and provide technical and robust general business acumen and leadership for the entire organization.

The Director of Finance will operate at both a tactical and strategic level, helping drive financial and operational discipline and growth plans for the business. Our client is looking for a leader who is enthusiastic about inspiring and developing people and maintaining a positive and productive team culture.

Job Requirements:

  • CPA or equivalent
  • MBA or Master's degree of a business school or equivalent certificate is a strong plus
  • 5+ years experience in leading finance functions providing financial control and business support
  • Experience leading a finance team ideally in business partnering and financial reporting and control
  • Experience in manufacturing. Exposure to engineering, plant operations, logistics and supply chain would be helpful
  • Strong understanding of product cost accounting
  • Industry experience in pharmaceuticals, food, cosmetics, or manufacturing
  • Excellent computer skills (Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Firsthand understanding and knowledge of an ERP, SAP or similar
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and execute both daily details and drive strategic goals to achieve growth
  • Learns quickly and has strong problem solving and critical thinking skills
  • Highest standards of accuracy and precision; highly organized
  • Effective communication and presentation skills and the ability to guide and influence
