Division: Commercial Alberta

Bow River Paving, part of Trotter & Morton Group of Companies, has been providing asphalt paving services for private and commercial projects in Alberta since 1991. Our operations also include grading, gravelling, and snow removal services.

Bow River is currently looking to hire a Concrete Form Setter who will contribute to our team of dedicated personnel by bringing their experience and high-quality workmanship to every project.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join wood materials
  • Build and lay out wood and metal forms according to specifications
  • Set forms for the construction of concrete sidewalks, curbs, gutters, and other structures
  • Load, unload, and transport construction materials
  • Remove rubble and other debris at construction sites
  • Check formwork, granular base, and steel reinforcement material
  • Direct placement of concrete into forms or surfaces
  • Compact concrete with tamper or compactor to bring to the required grade

Required Skills

  • Basic carpentry skills
  • Ability to read construction plans
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Pride in quality workmanship
  • Ability to follow instructions

Required Experience

  • City of Calgary Road Construction experience
  • Concrete Formwork Experience
  • Driver's License is essential
  • Weekend work and 10 hours plus work days

Additional Requirements

  • Ability to work outside, on uneven ground, for long periods of time in different weather conditions
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and crouch for long periods of time
  • The position often requires overtime and can be seasonal in nature
  • Travel may be required
