Work environment

Transport Canada is responsible for transportation policies and programs. We promote safe, secure, efficient and environmentally responsible transportation.

Understanding that the higher upfront purchase cost of zero-emission vehicles (ZEVs) can make it more difficult to adopt this clean technology, the Incentives for Zero-Emission Vehicles (iZEV) Program can help to make it more affordable. As an Administrative Support Assistant, you will be directly involved in the delivery of the iZEV program, including:

- Responding to requests for information
- Applying program guidelines when processing claims submitted by dealerships
- Finding solutions to routine problems
- Following up on documentation required for claim processing

Diversity — Count yourself in!
Diversity and inclusion have always been at the core of Transport Canada's values. Diverse teams bring wide perspectives and creative ideas that benefit our clients, the communities we serve and all of us as colleagues. Be part of an organization that represents and includes the diverse identities, cultures, perspectives, and experiences that make up Canada!

Transport Canada continues its commitment to strengthening diversity, accessibility and inclusion through concrete actions that will reduce assessment biases and barriers and encourage more inclusive hiring practices. For example:

• Merit criteria (qualifications for the position) are established with inclusion in mind
• Assessment tools and methods are evaluated, and potential barriers are identified, removed, or mitigated
• Selection board members are diverse
• Selection board members are trained on unconscious bias via Canada School of Public Service COR120 - Inclusive Hiring Practices for a Diverse Workforce
• Dedicated resource through the "Career Navigator program" to better support Canadian Indigenous applicants when they apply for positions
