Mid Island Co-op invites applications for the position of Director, People & Culture, to lead the HR function for our passionate and growing team! Located on Vancouver Island, BC, Mid Island Co-op has been in business since 1959 and was created by local citizens as an alternative way to provide themselves with goods and services. Reporting to the CEO, the Director, People & Culture plays a pivotal role in shaping and fostering the organizational culture, as well as managing all aspects of human resources within the company. The Director, People and Culture will work closely with the senior leadership team to align HR initiatives with business objectives and drive employee engagement, development, and retention. Develop and implement HR strategies aligned with the Co-op's overall goals and objectives. Serve as a trusted advisor to management and employees on HR-related issues. Promote a positive work environment and company culture. Implement and manage performance evaluation systems to drive employee productivity and development. Provide coaching and support to managers on performance feedback and improvement plans. Identify training needs and develop programs to enhance employee skills and capabilities. Implement initiatives to support career development and succession planning. Oversee compensation and benefits programs, ensuring competitiveness and compliance with legal requirements. Keep abreast of changes in legislation and update policies and procedures accordingly. Utilize data analytics to assess HR metrics and trends. Champion the company's values and culture, fostering an inclusive and collaborative work environment. Oversee Payroll team processing hourly, union, management as well as the Board of Directors. Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field. Proven experience in a senior HR leadership role, preferably in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
