We're looking for an experienced and knowledgeable Regulatory, Environmental, Health & Safety Manager.

Responsible to the Manufacturing Director to provide direction and expertise to effectively implement regulatory, environmental, and health & safety programs. Monitor regulations and standards to proactively manage risks, opportunities, and challenges. Develop assessments and strategies in support of current business and new product initiatives. Responsible for regulatory, environmental, health and safety compliance, including various government registrations as well as reporting requirements enabling supply of products to our Dealer-Owners.

What you'll do:
  1. Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements including federal and provincial environmental and health & safety legislation, as it relates to the operations of the paint & home products division.
  2. Review new product formulations, or changes to existing products to ensure product, and/or carton labeling is in compliance with the appropriate regulation(s).
  3. Manage workplace health & safety programs for compliance with divisional and corporate objectives as well as government regulations including accident investigations, inspections, and reporting.
  4. Monitor regulatory developments and new regulations that impact the paint and home products division. Partner with all departments to ensure compliance to regulations (ex. TDG, Hazardous Product Act, Canadian Environmental Protection Act, Consumer Packaging and Labelling Act).
  5. Monitor regulatory and environmental issues such as VOC's, priority substance list assessments, labelling guidelines etc., and report to applicable departments as required.
  6. Coordinate and complete all reporting for various legislative requirements. Disability Management for all WSIB claims and injuries including RTW, reporting, tracking
  7. Coordinate health & safety training for new hires, existing team members & safety committee members.
  8. Collaborate with industry associations such as CCSPA, CPCA, PCA, CRGI, government officials, division managers/peers and HHSL corporate stakeholders to ensure compliance.
What we're looking for:

College Diploma or Degree in Regulatory, Environmental, Quality Assurance, Health & Safety, Chemistry, Biology, or related field
Minimum of five to ten years of Regulatory, Environmental and Health and Safety experience
Minimum of three to five years of management experience
Experience working with Regulatory and Environmental legislation
Experience working with Health and Safety legislation and other relevant legislation
Experience managing external relationships with regulators, associations and other stakeholders
Respectful of people and maintaining confidentiality. Possess a high level of integrity and accountability. Ability to build and maintain lasting relationships with other departments and stakeholders
Effective communication skills with individuals at all levels of the organization. Strong written and verbal communication skills as well as presentation skills. Sound analytical thinking, planning, prioritization, and execution skills with excellent time management and people management skills
Excellent computer skills , experience using Microsoft products. Knowledge and practice with F&DA, CEPA, CCPSA and CCCR considered an asset
