About Branch

Branch is shaking up the $46B office furniture industry to create an office experience for the 21st century: easy, affordable and flexible so you can sit down (or stand) and get to work. Office furniture hasn't changed in a while--about 85 years, in fact. That's the average age of the top twenty-five office furniture companies in America. None of them were born after the Internet. Branch makes beautiful and supportive work products for enterprises and home offices, too. Our mission extends beyond furniture into health, productivity and more.

We're based in NYC and backed by the investors behind household brands like Quip, Caraway and Peloton. Our founders arrive with experience in partnerships, real estate acquisitions and venture building at leading real estate companies like Oxford Properties, SL Green and Redfin.

We're an ambitious group of problem solvers innovating across software, design and logistics, and we're looking for entrepreneurial teammates who like a challenge.

The Role

We're seeking a temporary People Operations Specialist to oversee the day-to-day HR functions at Branch during a maternity leave. This is a great opportunity to own the HR function in a thriving startup environment, where you'll gain exposure to all areas of the business, and experience the excitement of wearing a variety of hats every day.

Your main responsibilities will include ensuring compliance with HR regulations, managing onboarding and offboarding processes, administering payroll and benefits, driving recruitment efforts, and supporting performance management initiatives. You'll be the primary liaison between the Branch team and upper management, implementing strategies to enhance job satisfaction, and coordinating our DEI initiatives. You'll act as the main point of contact for all HR matters, reporting directly to the CEO and collaborating with stakeholders across North America.

This is a 12-15 month contract position beginning in late May-early June 2024..

The Ideal Candidate

You're not just a self-starter; you're the kind who thrives in dynamic environments, diving headfirst into challenges with gusto. You embody resourcefulness, speed, and a keen eye for detail, seamlessly blending analytical prowess with a knack for creative problem-solving. Your collaborative spirit isn't just about teamwork; it's about lifting your colleagues up, nurturing their growth, and propelling them towards their career goals. You aren't afraid to ask questions and challenge the status quo. You're the epitome of a "get things done" mentality, unafraid to tackle any obstacle and navigate through ambiguity with finesse.
