What you will be doing in the role of Project Engineering:

The Project Engineer is responsible for working with customers and other Lakeside's Project Engineers to design and document fuel trains, Burner Management, hydronic, steam and condensate, pumping and piping systems and support TSSA submittals.

Your responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  1. Design Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs) and piping and instrument diagrams (P&IDs)
  2. Piping Systems design including routing, supporting and materials
  3. Support sizing and selections of pumps
  4. Fuel Train and Boiler Systems Design
  5. Prepare design calculations and specifications for major equipment, including boilers and auxiliary equipment
  6. Support commissioning and start-up of combustion equipment and overall process needs
  7. Coordinate with mechanical designers and drafters and review design deliverables to ensure compliance with specification requirement and industry standards
  8. Communicate with other Engineers and Project Managers as appropriate to ensure completion of projects on time and within budget
  9. TSSA documentation submittals
  10. Perform other duties supportive of main objectives, as assigned
Unique Product Training & Support

Knowledge and skills required for the role:

  1. Degree in Mechanical Engineering
  2. Ten (10)+ years of experience in design and implementation of mechanical and combustion related projects, including fuel train and burner management
  3. Familiarity with Design of Process Distribution and Control Narratives for Burner Management Systems (BMS) and Combustion Control Systems (CCS) would be considered an asset
  4. Strong theoretical and practical understanding of mechanical processes and systems
  5. Exposure to the process industry including Power, Cogeneration (Power and Steam production)
  6. Knowledge of the integration of mechanical, electrical and control components, as well as mechanical equipment sizing (i.e. pumps, fans, compressors, heat exchangers, pipes, and similar equipment)
  7. Knowledge of process applications and performance of industrial combustion appliances including but not limited to Steam Generation Boilers, Process Furnaces, Thermal Oxidizers, Rotating Kilns, Fluidized Bed Incinerators, Process Air Heaters
  8. Knowledge of CSA, TSSA, NFPA codes - Fuel safety
  9. Knowledge of B31.1, B31.3, B51, AMSE codes – BPV
  10. Excellent planning and organizational skills
