Elora Mill Hotel & Spa is seeking a Senior Restaurant Manager to act as a direct support to our Restaurant team. The Senior Restaurant Manager works in tandem with the Restaurant Director to ensure that daily operations are being executed to Elora Mill's high service standards. The Senior Restaurant Manager ensures that we are always offering a genuine and thoughtful experience to our guests and our team. The individual in this role is actively involved in food and beverage service and works collaboratively with the Restaurant Director, Executive Chef & team of Sommelier's on menu development initiatives to drive top line revenue. Their focus is on the overall strength and development of Elora Mill's service standards through on the ground operations, training, team building and smart inventory systems. Duties & Responsibilities:

Managing Day-to-Day Operations

  • Oversee and direct day-to-day operations of the restaurant.
  • Drive and support the growth of dinner service through personal knowledge and expertise.
  • Review labour daily to ensure that all positions are staffed and make adjustment as needed.
  • Investigate and resolve complaints concerning food quality and service.
  • Operating POS System; End of night reporting; Guest check reporting.
  • Ensure proper opening and closing of restaurant including the completion of all daily cleaning checklist.
  • Ensure consistency of service with clearly defined service standards and work continually at raising the bar to provide the very best guest experience.
  • Fully understand and comply with all federal, provincial, and municipal regulations that pertain to health, safety and labor requirements of the restaurant, team members and guests.
  • Ensure proper control systems are in place and enforce procedures to protect all assets.

Additional Operational Tasks

  • Assist in overall inventory management.
  • Monitor financial and service performance of F&B outlets, keeping fully informed of cover counts, average checks and year over year comparisons.
  • Keep abreast of current trends in Hospitality, Food and Drink; shares knowledge with management, staff and guests.

Leading the Team

  • Act as a mentor to service staff: embody a great service culture and create a high level of service standards and excellence.
  • Overall team organization and development: Working directly with the front of house teams (hostesses, servers, captains and support staff).
  • Assist in team member evaluations/performance reviews.
  • Management of shifts: daily decision making, scheduling, planning, while upholding standards, product quality and cleanliness.
  • Knowledgeable of restaurant policies regarding personnel and delivers prompt, fair and consistent corrective action for all violations of company policies, rules and procedures.
  • Always act with integrity and honesty, take responsibility for decisions and actions
  • Demonstrate a commitment to further develop skills and knowledge and takes initiative toward accomplishing personal and professional development goals.
  • Effectively manages time and prioritizes tasks to ensure organizational efficiency.
  • Communicate and be an example of Pearle Hospitality's core values by demonstrating genuine and thoughtful hospitality in the day-to-day execution of duties.
  • Exhibit a positive optimism and upbeat personality toward guests, suppliers, vendors, and members of the FOH and BOH teams.
  • Champion Pearle culture by ensuring high level of staff engagement and continual reinforcement of mission and core values.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • 5 years in a restaurant manager role.
  • Capable of leading a team of 75+
  • Hotel experience is an asset.

Pay: From $72,000.00 per year
