We are looking to fill a key role within our Enterprise Risk Management team . This position plays an important part in identifying and managing non-investment risks that impact BCI's operations or objectives . Please note that this role does not focus on front-office investment risk.

DEPARTMENT OVERVIEW

The Corporate Risk & Audit (CR&A) department is responsible for providing analysis and insight into BCI's risk exposures, governance, and control practices. Comprised of three branches – Enterprise Risk Management, Internal Controls, and Internal Audit – this department helps BCI understand and monitor the key risks that could impact our objectives , advises management on potential mitigation strategies, and provides assurance on the ongoing effectiveness of controls.

The Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) team h elps support decision-making by analyzing and communicating information on BCI's non-investment risks and their potential impact on operations or corporate objectives .

THE OPPORTUNITY

Reporting to the Senior Manager, ERM , the Analyst / Senior Analyst , ERM performs a wide range of duties in support of the overall goals of Enterprise Risk Management . The Analyst / Senior Analyst s upports the ERM program's efficient and effective identification, analysis, and monitoring of non-investment risks and a nalyzes data to report risk - specific insights.

This role also support s other ERM activities, including creating tools and approaches and providing support for the crisis management and corporate insurance programs .

WHAT YOU BRING

  • 1- 4 years of experience working in a professional environment – for the Senior Analyst level, at least 2 of which must be in enterprise / operational risk or audit

  • University degree in b usiness, f inance, r isk or another related field

  • The skills to establish and maintain effective relationships across all business units

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and professionall y , both verbally and in writing

  • Well- developed analytical and problem-solving skills

  • P roficiency with general Microsoft O ffice software and creating presentations for various stakeholder groups

  • The ability to balance a demanding workload effectively and proactively with competing priorities with a high degree of accuracy to meet deadlines and overall delivery of goals

Preferred Qualifications

  • A relevant professional certification, such as the CRM, FRM , or CPA , is a plus

  • Knowledge of corporate insurance and crisis/resiliency

  • Experience delivering enterprise projects

  • Experience with data analytics and visualization tools

WHAT YOU GET TO DO

  • Collects , analyzes and summarizes non-investment risk information from a variety of internal and external sources to generate insights and facilitate risk identification, assessment , and monitoring

  • Collaborates with internal stakeholders to collect, organize, and visualize operational risk metric information for reporting to the enterprise risk committee s and Board of Directors.

  • Assists ERM team in providing strategic support to members of BCI's enterprise risk committees, including risk assessment and project support , as required .

  • Drafts updates to risk management policies, procedures, and methodologies, ensuring they are up-to-date and aligned with industry best practices

  • Supports the corporate insurance program

  • Supports the crisis management program

SALARY RANGE

BCI offers a competitive total rewards package which includes a performance-based incentive plan, comprehensive health & dental benefits, a defined benefit pension plan and paid time off.

Depending on the skill level and relevant experience the successful candidate will be hired at one of the following levels with the annualized base salary range for this Victoria-based role.

  • Analyst – CAD $ 74,000 to $85,000

  • Senior Analyst – CAD $ 84,000 to $100,000

The base salary offered to the successful candidate will consider a wide array of factors including but not limited to the individual's skill set, level of experience applicable to the role they are being offered and consideration to internal equity.

We pay our people competitively in the markets in which we compete for talent and with consideration to internal equity and job structure. We aim for actual pay to be around the median of the market for target or expected levels of performance, and around the upper quartile of the market for excellent performance.

Actual salaries may vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors , including, but not limited to, experience and expertise .
