Select People Solutions is pleased to be working with the YMCA of Lethbridge in their search for a brand new role - Director of Association Services. The YMCA is a vital community organization that has been a cornerstone of community engagement, child, and youth development, and the promotion of health and well-being within Lethbridge, across Canada and worldwide. This role will be overseeing the Membership Services, Marketing and Communications, and Fund Development teams - leading staff and volunteers in the areas of program development and implementation and continuous process improvement as indicated in the strategic plan. Successful candidates will be passionate about member relations and ensuring participants, donors and stakeholders have the best experience with the organization. Candidates will have strong communication skills, be fast learners, and can ask questions to drive at root causes and innovations. Compensation & Hours:

  • The salary will be $85-95K based on experience.
  • Additional PTO available.
  • This role will be full-time, Monday-Friday.
  • Occasional evenings and weekends, based on events.

Position Summary:

  • Providing leadership to the Association Services, fostering collaboration, innovation, and accountability within the department.
  • Working closely with other Senior Leadership Team members and CEO to ensure strategic priorities are achieved.
  • Developing and executing initiatives and programs for membership services, philanthropic, fund development, and marketing strategies.
  • Monitoring trends and analytics relevant to initiatives and services within the department to determine room for growth and community needs.
  • Exemplifying core values of caring, honesty, inclusiveness, respect, and responsibility through practices of diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging.
  • Collaboration across the organization to ensure alignment of goals and objectives.
  • Training and developing the Association Services Department through recruitment, performance management, and workforce planning.
  • Creating and implementing department policies, guidelines, best practices, and work standards.
  • Assessing options and evaluating past practices using analytical methods and processes to solve problems and create strategic plans.
  • Assess current community needs and identify recommendations, in alignment with the Associationâs strategic plan, of where to focus growth efforts.
  • Responding to escalated concerns and resolving issues in a timely manner â making decisions that serve as a guide to the rest of the organization.
  • Providing support, guidance, and leadership to the annual fundraising and planned giving campaigns.
  • Developing the Departmentâs annual operating and capital budgets, monitoring expenditures, ensuring compliance, forecasting, and providing recommendations for investment.
  • Following policies regarding confidentiality to safeguard data and information and handle sensitive information with a strong sense of ethics and confidentiality.

Required Qualifications:

  • Post-Secondary education in Communication, Business Management, or related.
  • 5+ yearsâ experience in a supervisory, big-picture thinker role.
  • Experience analyzing reports to determine required adjustments.
  • Strong skills in membership relations.
  • Intermediate to expert knowledge in Microsoft Office Suite programs.
  • Strong communication skills, including strong de-escalation abilities.
  • Candidates will be required to complete a Criminal Record Check and Child Intervention Check.
  • 3 professional references will be required.

Bonus Points For:

  • Previous experience in Sales, Communications, Marketing or Funds Development
  • Previous not-profit experience
