Position overview:

The Analyst, Financial Accounting and Performance Reporting will hold a pivotal position in helping us scale our platform and create extraordinary management services across our global eco-system.

The successful candidate will play a critical role in managing the accounting activities of our carried interest entities ("entities") and Sagard's Long-Term Incentive ("LTI") Plans, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely reporting. Additionally, this role will be responsible for collecting and consolidating KPI data from underlying funds and organizing performance reporting for both internal and external stakeholders.

Your Responsibilities :

  • Financial Accounting
    • Keep the financial books and records for the entities. Perform NAV calculations and various reconciliations to ensure the overall accuracy and completeness of the accounting records.
    • Assist the manager in providing tax support, reviewing tax returns, distributing tax slips, and addressing external auditors' queries regarding Sagard's LTI Plans.
    • Coordinate with Sagard's leadership, HR, and external legal parties to issue LTI grants, and support the manager with the entity setup and structuring.
    • Be responsible for maintaining and updating the excel spreadsheet required to track different incentives granted to individual employees, organize and maintain signed agreements, and track the liquidity of the entities.
  • Performance Reporting
    • Collect financial data from underlying funds and consolidate it for reporting purposes, ensuring data accuracy and integrity.
    • Organize and present data reports for internal committee and board decks and external reporting duties.
    • Adhere to reporting timelines and optimize reporting templates to improve efficiency and consistency across reporting parties.
    • Collaborate as an integral stakeholder with the data team to actively contribute to the development and maintenance of Sagard's core database project.
    • Foster collaborative relationship with Investor Relations team and global partners to facilitate effective communication and alignment across the ecosystem.

Experience & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance; CPA preferred
  • 1 to 3 years of work experience involving accounting for Credit, Real Estate, Private Equity Fund Structure or for incentive compensation plans
  • Experience with data projects is an asset
  • Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills
  • Highly detail oriented, organized, self-motivated, able to work independently, and proactive with a strong work ethic to meet critical deadlines
  • Ability to work with uncertain/imperfect/complex information and ask the right questions to extract the needed information
  • Ability to manage confidential and sensitive information with discretion
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent spoken and written in English; effective in French is an asset
