As the Student Accountant, you will work closely alongside the Accountant, Accounting Clerk and Assistant Controller to receive hands-on mentorship and guidance. What would you be doing?

The Summer Student - Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable is responsible for assisting with data entry tasks related to processing accounts receivable and accounts payable transactions. This role involves accurately recording financial transactions, maintaining records, and providing support to the finance department during the summer months.

Responsibilities:

  • Accurately enter accounts receivable and accounts payable transactions into the accounting system.
  • Reconcile customer accounts and vendor statements to ensure accuracy.
  • Maintain organized records
  • Provide clerical support to AP Clerk and Accountant
  • Assist with additional finance-related tasks and projects as assigned by supervisors or management.

What do you need to qualify?

Required Education and Experience:

  • Currently enrolled in a post-secondary program, preferably in accounting, finance, or a related field.
  • Basic understanding of accounting principles and concepts.

  • An unwavering attention to detail that ensures our financial records are immaculate.
  • Exceptional time management skills, allowing you to handle multiple priorities effectively.
  • Stellar verbal and written communication skills, as you'll often collaborate with various teams and external partners.

  • Comfort working both independently and within a collaborative team environment.
  • Strong relationship-building skills to foster and maintain professional connections.
  • Proficiency in Quickbooks Desktop, demonstrating your tech-savvy side.
  • Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace software.
