Fortinet is offering an exciting opportunity and hiring a talented Software Dev QA Specialist to join our FortiClient and EMS (Enterprise Management Server) team in Burnaby, Canada.As a Software Dev QA Specialist, you would be responsible for assuring the functionalities of the products and testing tools implementation. In addition, you would also be engaged in both Front-End and Back-End verification on cloud and on-premises platforms. You will have ownership of quality assurance in significant areas of the product.Execute cases using a combination of manual and automated testing techniques.Design, develop and maintain software/system required for improving the functionality and reliability of our products.Design, develop and maintain the test automation infrastructure and the QA lab.Troubleshoot and solve problems related to our mission-critical cloud services and provide solutions to proactively prevent problems from happening.Create, maintain, and monitor internal service metrics.Collaborate with software development, release QA, and management information system operations teams to maintain and improve our products and services.Work closely with R&D and technical support teams on internal issue tracking system to troubleshoot issues and provide workarounds/solutions.Solid understanding of internet client - server architecture.Solid understanding of the internet protocol suite including ARP, MAC, IPv4, IPsec, TCP, UDP, SSH, LDAP, DNS, DHCP, routing and switching.3+ years of hands on experience of setting up and using Windows, Linux Server with virtualization technologies such as Windows Hypervisor and VMware.Strong knowledge of VPN technology, Secure Access Service Edge, Web Proxy, Zero Trust Network Access, and authentication methods such as MFA, and Cert-based auth.Strong knowledge of general QA procedures and methodologies, as well as software development fundamentals.Demonstrated knowledge of troubleshooting network/server issues using various tools including sniffer, traceroute, process monitor, Windows events viewer and etc. Demonstrated skills in scripting languages, such as shell or Python are considered assets.Experience with Azure/AWS/Data encryption/penetration test/vulnerabilities research is a plus.The Canada base salary range for this full-time position is expected to be between $81,000 - $110,000 annually.
