ROLE PURPOSE This position will play a pivotal role in enhancing the skills, knowledge, and abilities of our employees. You will design, implement, and evaluate learning and development programs that align with organizational goals and support employee growth. This position requires a combination of instructional design expertise, training delivery skills, and a deep understanding of adult learning principles. REPORTING AND WORKING RELATIONSHIPS Reports and is accountable to the Senior Manager of People and Culture Participates as a member of the Connective Common Services Team Liaises with community and government agencies as required Liaises with the staff of Connective as required Oversees the work of contractors as required Functions as subject matter expert on Learning & Development within the organization HOURS 40 hours a week; Monday to Friday 0900-1700 KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES Needs Assessment: Conduct thorough needs assessments to identify skill gaps and learning objectives, collaborating with department managers and involved and interest parties to understand organizational priorities and performance gaps. Training Program Development: Design and develop innovative learning solutions, including e-learning courses, workshops, simulations, and other instructional materials, to address employee development needs across various departments. Training Delivery: Facilitate engaging and interactive training sessions both in-person and virtually, ensuring content is effectively communicated and understood by participants. Certified trainer in internal course offerings. Internal Training Coordination: Administers registrations, reminders, calendar invitations, course and facilitator scheduling and support (e.g. course materials, recertifications). Continuous Learning Framework: Lead the development and evolution of Connective's Continuous Learning Framework, ensuring that content is current, relevant, and aligned with industry best practices and regulatory requirements. Learning Management System (LMS): Provide ongoing administrative maintenance of the LMS, liaising with My Learning Hub LMS platform for troubleshooting and functional queries. Coordinate the development of new courses, focus group testing, and rollout, on a set schedule. Evaluation and Improvement: Implement mechanisms for evaluating the effectiveness of training programs, collecting feedback from participants, and analyzing data to measure the impact on employee performance and organizational goals. Continuously refine and improve training initiatives based on feedback and evaluation results. Performance Support: Develop resources and job aids to support ongoing learning and skill application in the workplace, such as manuals, guides, and online resources. Compliance and Quality Assurance: Ensure that training programs adhere to legal and regulatory requirements, as well as internal quality standards, maintaining accurate records and documentation of training activities. WORKING CONDITIONS Function independently, while remaining a crucial member of the support team Adhere to Connective policies and procedures Primarily remote work with site visits as determined by role needs Be available to work flexible hours as needed. May include occasional evenings/weekends EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS Bachelor's degree, diploma or certificate in Human Resources, Education, Instructional Design, Organizational Development, or a related field. Master's degree preferred. Proven experience in instructional design, curriculum development, and training facilitation. Strong understanding of adult learning principles, instructional design models (e.g., ADDIE), and learning evaluation methods. Proficiency in learning management systems (LMS) and e-learning authoring tools. Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and concisely. Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively. Ability to build positive relationships and collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels of the organization. Relevant certifications in training and or social services (e.g., CPLP, CPTM., MANDT)are a plus. REQUIREMENTS Ability to successfully complete a Vulnerable Persons Criminal Records Check Ability to successfully complete an Enhanced Security Clearance Ability to successfully pass a reference check Proof of Covid-19 vaccination COMPENSATION Annual Salary will start at $61 ,600 up to $84,700 yearly based on experience and qualifications. This role is also eligible for the organization's comprehensive benefits package. Important: Candidates must be legally authorized to work in Canada, observe their weekly hours limit if under a temporary or study visa, and provide proof of eligibility if selected for the role.
