We are looking for a Senior Hardware Engineer for a reputable Information and Communications Technology (Smart Grid solutions) company located in Burnaby, BC. Over the past 30 years, this company creatively developed technology that enhances the safety, security, reliability and efficiency of public power and electric cooperative utilities across North America! As the Senior Hardware Engineer, you will be reporting to the Director of Hardware, and you will be working closely with a multidisciplinary team of engineers and designers to complete product development, maintenance of line and research tasks throughout the full product life cycle process for volume manufacturing of wireless endpoint and modem products used within the utility marketplace. This is a full-time, Monday to Friday permanent role on site (in the lab). 80-100% on extended health, 50-90% on dental, $300 on vision, 100% Employee Assistant Program and $300-800 on health spending account • A green technology company with an exciting product • Your tasks as the Senior Hardware Engineer: • Ownership of delivery and support of robust hardware in embedded microcontroller systems including RF, analog, mixed signal and high current load control elements. • Thermal design considerations for heat extraction from product level enclosures housing electronics. • Designs which incorporate principles of design for manufacturability and test. • System integration and commercial release validation activities. • Interaction with test labs for regulatory compliance as they relate to submissions for wireless, utility and safety regulatory bodies. • Sourcing and qualifying alternate components through data sheet analysis and test verification • Field RF propagation testing At least 8 years of experience as a Senior Hardware Engineer within manufacturing (ideally electronics/ industrial manufacturing)• At least 8 years of experience (not counting co-op experience) in hardware design roles for embedded microcontroller systems and hardware design (memory and data conversion)• Thermal analysis and heat sinking, extracting heat from enclosures housing heat sources. • Testing of designed or maintained products for compliance or continued compliance to regulatory standards and submission of test reports to regulatory bodies for approval. • Providing advance insight to firmware developers on the control mechanisms required for performing hardware validation. • Use of CAD software for schematic capture and PCB layout. • Use of circuit analysis simulation tools such as LTspice to minimize hardware prototype iterations. #Contract Info / Information sur le contrat
