Duties and Responsibilities:

Lead efforts to secure funding from diverse sources including governmental agencies and private foundations by researching opportunities, writing grant proposals, and cultivating relationships.

Develop and maintain robust reporting systems to track fund utilization, ensure compliance with donor requirements, and provide timely and accurate reports on fundraising activities and project outcomes.

Lead and coordinate interdisciplinary teams in the planning, execution, and completion of marine research projects and conservation initiatives.

Develop project plans, timelines, and budgets, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives.

Monitor project progress, identify risks and challenges, and implement strategies to mitigate issues and achieve project milestones.

Oversee logistical aspects of projects, including procurement of equipment, permits, and coordinating field operations.

Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, ethical standards, and safety protocols throughout project implementation.

Provide leadership and mentorship to project team members, fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment.

Evaluate project effectiveness, lessons learned, and best practices to inform future project planning and decision-making.
Requirements and Qualifications:

MBA in project management is required.

Minimum five years' project management experience, preferably in marine or environmental sectors.

PMP Designation is considered an asset.

High level of competency in computer software including MS Office - Word and Excel

Strong analytical and assessment skills.

High standards of professionalism and confidentiality.

Ability to work independently and in a team environment where mutual support is essential.

Ability to deal with individuals in varying situations where complex, high pressure, difficult decisions, or emergencies may occur.
