Job Title: Finance Manager

Location: North York, Toronto, Ontario

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Analysis: Conduct comprehensive financial analysis, including but not limited to, investment opportunities, project feasibility studies, and performance metrics.
  • Pro Forma Development: Lead the development of pro forma financial statements for potential real estate development projects, ensuring accuracy and feasibility.
  • Investor Decks: Prepare and complete investor presentations and decks, providing detailed financial insights and projections to attract potential investors.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Collaborate with the CFO and other stakeholders to develop budgets and financial forecasts for ongoing projects and the overall business.
  • Cash Flow Management: Monitor cash flows, analyze variances, and implement strategies to optimize cash management within the real estate development group.
  • Risk Management: Identify and assess financial risks associated with real estate development projects, proposing mitigation strategies as needed.
  • Month-End Accounting: Oversee month-end accounting processes including Account Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, HST filing and reconciliations.
  • Year End Accounting: Work with external Auditor to manage the preparation of Year End Financial Statements and Tax returns.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare financial reports and statements for internal and external stakeholders, adhering to regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • Ad-Hoc Projects: Support the CFO and executive team on ad-hoc financial projects and initiatives as required.

Experience and Skills:

  • Bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in financial analysis and reporting, in the real estate development industry.
  • Strong proficiency in financial modeling and pro forma development.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex financial concepts to diverse stakeholders.
  • Advanced knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
  • Experience in preparing investor presentations and decks.
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
  • Highly analytical mindset with a keen attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial software applications.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Understanding of real estate development processes and market dynamics is a plus.
