Afternoon Brewer Full-Time. Permanent Wellington Brewery- Guelph, ON Wellington Brewery is Canada's oldest independently owned microbrewery. Based in Guelph, Ontario, we craft our award-winning beers with a focus on quality, sustainability, and creativity and transforming Ontario's brewing culture to stand for people and the planet. They will be responsible for monitoring and carrying out brewhouse and production operations. The Afternoon Brewer is a key position on the brewing team who must be a self-starter with great energy and a true passion for craft beer. Our Brewing team works together under minimal supervision to execute daily brewing operations, they must lead with innovation and creativity, be obsessed over the quality of beer leaving our facility, and actively participate in brand promotion efforts and enjoy working as part of a team and collaborating with others. Monitors the processes and makes adjustments as required to meet Wellington Brewery's high-quality standards. Coordinates yeast management alongside the Production and Quality team Maintains a sanitary and micro-biologically stable work environment through Clean in Place (CIP) procedures and solid general housekeeping practices Work closely with the Brewing team to achieve desired quality and production targets Assisting with product and recipe development for seasonal and one-off beers Assisting in all areas of production including cellaring, packaging and quality control Assist in customer beer education sessions including brewery tours, high profile events and educating other team members Proactively be the ambassador of Wellington Brewery through relationship building and networking initiatives Post-secondary education in a related field Successful graduate of Brewery Operations Management (an asset) Available and able to work rotating shifts Wellington Brewery is an equal opportunity employer.
