This pivotal role involves providing comprehensive support to various projects across Ontario spanning diverse sectors such as general building, heavy industrial, energy, and water treatment.
As a Quality Assurance Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the adherence to the stringent quality standards at project sites. Your responsibilities will encompass overseeing the implementation of quality programs, liaising with stakeholders including consultants and clients to address quality-related matters, and serving as a technical resource for project teams. Your duties will also entail conducting inspections, developing project-specific quality plans, and facilitating quality orientations.
Key responsibilities include:
- Implementing the quality program requirements at the project level.
- Reviewing and implementing client's quality and technical requirements.
- Documenting field activities related to quality assurance and control.
- Overseeing material receiving and inspection activities.
- Developing, implementing, and maintaining project-specific inspection and test plans.
- Conducting project-specific quality orientations.
- Ensuring project management teams are equipped with necessary project documentation.
- Assisting in the development of project-specific QA/QC procedures.
- Monitoring construction work for compliance with specifications and regulations.
- Assisting in the development and management of Quality policies and procedures.
- Supporting the acquisition and maintenance of certifications and registrations.
- Assisting in vendor, sub-contractor, and project surveillance audits.
- Developing, implementing, and overseeing project site quality programs.
Qualifications:
- A post-secondary degree/diploma in Engineering Technologies, Quality Control, or related field experience.
- 3-5 years of construction experience.
- Certifications such as ISO 9001 Auditor, CSA approved Welding Inspector, or membership in relevant professional societies are advantageous.
