Aon is looking for a Data Consultant for our implementation team within pension administration. The team collaborates with internal teams to implement and support solutions for clients. This is an excellent opportunity for an analyst looking to familiarize with pension administration OR an experienced pension administration colleague with proven data management abilities.

This is a hybrid role working both virtually and from our Montreal office.

Applicants must be legally authorized to work in Canada. This role is not eligible for sponsorship, and we are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment visa or work permit.

What the day will look like

Develop and Implement Strategies:

  • Create and implement data conversion strategies and plans.
  • Analyze and map data from different sources to the desired target systems.

Data Accuracy and Completeness:

  • Ensure data accuracy and completeness during the conversion process.
  • Perform data cleansing and transformation activities as needed.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve any data conversion issues.

Documentation:

  • Maintain documentation of data mappings and conversion processes.
  • Produce reconciliation and validation reports.

Support and Troubleshooting:

  • Provide operational support and troubleshooting during data conversion.
  • Participate in peer reviews and inspections of requirements documents, functional/technical designs, and code.
  • Create migration packages and develop scripts for data and code objects to be migrated across instances.

Skills and experience that will lead to success

  • BS or BA degree in computer science or related field, or equivalent experience
  • Strong understanding of database structures (tables, temp tables, stored procedures and user-defined functions)
  • Experience with scripting languages like VBA, VBS or other equivalent.
  • Experience with MS SQL and SSIS or other data-loading software
  • Knowledge of Pension and/or Benefits Administration is an asset
  • Bilingualism (French/English) is an asset
  • Organized and thorough
  • Team-oriented but able to self-motivate and direct
  • Able to communicate and inform team members of status, progress and challenges
  • Capable of problem identification and resolution
  • Able to learn from others and adapt to standards
  • Able to express complex technical concepts effectively, both verbally and in writing
  • Occasional evening and weekend work to meet timelines.
  • Frequent computer use for extended periods.
  • Access information using a computer and related components and peripherals.
  • Participation in training sessions, presentations, and meetings.
