In the appointment of Teaching Assistant, the general duties and responsibilities will be as follows:

  • Helping set up materials for classes;
  • Assisting with classroom activities and set up;
  • Grading some assignments and assisting with grading;
  • Monitoring online assignments/discussions/chat rooms;
  • Monitoring online activity;
  • Maintaining class records;
  • Providing feedback and tracking performance; and
  • Conferring with the course instructor.

This position will provide support to Dr. Michelle Prytula, course instructor, and report formally to the JSGS Executive Officer.

The general location of work will be in the Diefenbaker Building on campus where JSGS is located.

Required Number of Hours : Up to 120 hours over the duration of the appointment
Duration of Employment : 2024-25 Spring session
Course Name, Abbreviation and Number: JSGS 882 Strategic Management in the Public Sector (two sections, one online and one in person)
Start and End Dates: May 15 to June 28, 2024

Qualifications (Skills and Abilities) A minimum of a Master's degree in political science, public policy, or other social sciences discipline is required.

  • Strong English language communication skills are required.
  • The successful candidate must be registered in a graduate program at the University of Saskatchewan in the Johnson Shoyama Graduate School of Public Policy and be in good standing.
  • Teaching experience and experience working in the public sector would be considered assets.
