Job SummaryAs Business Development Manager, you will be the driving force for building relationships and selling Levitt-Safety's product and service solutions in Southwestern Ontario.
Reporting to the Regional Sales Manager in Ontario, this individual will champion the growth of Levitt-Safety's fire & safety business by identifying and qualifying leads. The primary focus will be on hunting, attracting and retaining new business opportunities through prospecting activities. Working directly with end user customers as well as collaboratively with the local sales and marketing teams, you will be the Face of Levitt-Safety.
This is a highly strategic role that will require a high degree of planning, customer relationship building and solutions selling. You must be detail oriented with strong communication and interpersonal skills essential for building rapport, proactive, outgoing, possess a can-do attitude, sales experience, and a high degree of understanding of our customers operations, key metrics and decision motivations.
Main Responsibilities- Prospect for new business and identify potential customers through research and outbound lead generation activities.
- Understanding customer needs, challenges and buying criteria and educate them on the company's offerings and value proposition.
- Collaborate with internal sales and marketing teams to maintain a database (CRM) of key clients in the region for planning, marketing, and strategy execution.
- Maintain and own accurate records of prospect interactions and lead status using Salesforce.
- Possess a strong drive to deliver results, follow leads through the sales process from prospecting to closing, and after-sale support.
- Lead the quoting and proposal process for major bids, using existing templates and/or engaging subject matter experts to provide a comprehensive sales proposal that meets customer needs while maximizing company profitability.
- Provide exceptional support to customers and prospects in the market with a fanatical approach to customer service.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge on industry trends, market conditions, products and competitors as well as services offered by Levitt-Safety.
- Participation in sales meetings, training, trade shows, conferences and webinars will be critical to the role, as will timely completion of sales reports, expense reports and lead reports, using Salesforce.
- Minimum 5 years previous experience in outbound sales and business development.
- Industry experience while not required is certainly a plus in this role!
- Must be a self-starter as hunting for new business willbe a critical component of this role.
- Excellent communication skills with proven negotiation, presentation, selling and closing skills.
- Enthusiastic, passionate, optimistic and a hunger to win!
- Exceptional collaboration and needs analysis skills.
- Computer savvy with experience using a CRM system such as Salesforce or a similar software.
- Ability to travel with your own reliable vehicle.
