Regional Leader, James Robertson Summary: With a proven track record of successful projects, we strive to enhance the quality of life for residents through thoughtful and innovative development. We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Development Manager to join our team and lead the execution of our residential projects within the Edmonton market. By joining our team, you will contribute to our mission of creating inclusive spaces where everyone feels valued and respected.

As the Senior Development Manager, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the planning, development, and execution of residential projects in Edmonton. You will be responsible for driving project success from concept to completion. This role demands strong autonomy, leadership, strategic thinking, and a deep understanding of the real estate development process.

Project Management: · Lead and manage all phases of residential real estate development projects, including site selection, due diligence, entitlements, design, construction, and delivery with a meticulous attention to detail. · Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in compliance with local regulations and company standards. Land Acquisition: · Identify and evaluate potential development opportunities, including conducting market research, financial analysis, and risk assessment. · Negotiate and secure land acquisitions in alignment with the company's growth strategy. · Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including architects, engineers, contractors, and consultants, to achieve project goals. · Develop overall project budgets and manage day to day tracking to ensure financial objectives are met. · Implement cost-saving strategies and value engineering to optimize project profitability. Stakeholder Relations: · Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including government agencies, community groups, and other industry partners. · Represent the company in public meetings, hearings, and other forums as required. · Identify and mitigate project risks through proactive planning and effective problem-solving. · Stay informed about industry trends, market conditions, and regulatory changes that may impact projects. Qualifications & Competencies:
  • Bachelor's degree in Real Estate, Business, Urban Planning, Architecture, Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in residential real estate development.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing and delivering complex development projects.
  • Strong understanding of local zoning, land use regulations, and development processes in Edmonton.
  • Excellent understanding of construction and best practices.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Financial acumen with the ability to analyze and manage project budgets effectively – Yardi experience will be an advantage.
