Electrical Engineering - Project Engineer

Primary Objective:

Responsible for the development and management of assigned project work during all phases, from inception through planning, design, and construction, in accordance with the project scope, schedule, and budget.

Responsibilities:

The Responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to the following:

  1. Prepare the concept design and complete load calculations, schematics, equipment selection and system concept report
  2. Design Electrical systems including but not limited to medium and low voltage electrical distribution, generators including cogeneration, transfer switching, UPS, grounding and bonding, lighting and control systems, life safety and emergency systems, and fire alarm.
  3. Design for ICAT services including but not limited to communication systems, AV systems, security access and monitoring systems, equipment and structured cabling.
  4. Write construction specifications
  5. Managing all aspects of electrical projects for our clients in the airport, high rise, residential, healthcare and commercial building industry
  6. Coordination with other members of project team technician and engineer
  7. Liaise with client group to establish project requirements
  8. Construction and equipment procurement follow-up
  9. Support during start-up and commissioning
  10. Coordinate with other consulting disciplines to ensure drawing integrity and completeness
  11. Review and coordinate with architectural, structural and mechanical drawings
  12. Work with contractors and respond to technical inquiries
  13. Help establish and promote client relationships
  14. Strive to ensure quality and timely delivery of finished products to clients
Qualifications, Experience and Education:
  1. 8+ years of engineering and/or design co-ordination experience in the consulting industry, specifically working on commercial projects
  2. Professional Engineering Designation (P.Eng.)
  3. Post-secondary education in Electrical Engineering or other relevant discipline such as Building Systems
  4. Proficiency in developing construction documents using AutoCAD and REVIT
  5. Familiar with bid and tendering process
  6. Familiarity with Microsoft Office tools including Excel, Word, Project and PowerPoint
  7. Experience working with customers and client base
  8. Experience in site investigations and construction review
  9. Able to make frequent trips to the customers' place of business.
  10. Maintenance of project design fee budgets and profitability
  11. Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
