The Director of Engineering is a key member of the senior management team
responsible for providing leadership and growth through ongoing skills
development for the Engineering Department. This is an onsite position.

Responsibilities
Your Role:
● Act as a mentor and coach to the Engineering department to ensure
optimal productivity and accountability
● Maintain staff and personnel competency through ongoing skills
development
● Direct all Team Leads/Managers within the department responsible
for new and existing product design, accessory and attachment designs,
instruction sheets and manuals etc.
● Manage R & D Department responsible for prototype construction
● Oversee product design from initial concept through design,
prototype build and test and into production
● Check and approve production drawings, instructions, manuals and
bills of materials
● Ensure products meet all safety and legislated requirements and
product certification approvals
● Coordinate the production implementation of new designs and
changes to existing designs
● Liaise with OEM customers, production, sales, quality and service
personnel
● Assist service and sales personnel with technical support for tractor
issues
● Support Production, Purchasing and Quality with changes or reviews
to existing product
● Travel as required
Qualifications
Qualifications:
● Professional Engineering status and registered as a P.Eng. in good
standing
● Eight or more years of management experience leading a design
engineering team
● Eight (8) or more years of large mobile vehicle design experience
● Experience with agricultural equipment and/or a farming background is
preferred
● Experience with creating and managing budgets
● Strong written and verbal communication skills
● Ability to explain and understand technical ideas and concepts
● Capable of managing multiple ongoing projects to meet necessary
deadlines
● Knowledge of computers and software (AS400, Microsoft Office,
AutoCAD, etc.)
● Success in leading teams, team development and mentorship
● Ability to travel as required.
