Specific Responsibilities

Building Systems Design

  • Conduct conceptual designs and detailed cost estimates for building electrical system upgrades, including developing business cases and preparing client reports.
  • Perform detailed design of building electrical systems, preparing technical specifications and documentation, and utilizing engineering theories and calculations to arrive at solutions.
  • Prepare tender documentation for equipment and installation procurement, in coordination with owners.
  • Ensure construction and implementation adhere to agreed project timelines, conducting field reviews, reviewing documents during construction, and providing instructions and solutions to ensure projects meet design intent and owner's requirements.

Project Management

  • Manage projects and phases, including resource planning, budgeting, change management, scope management, and schedule and contingency planning and resolution.
  • Provide guidance and supervision to more junior members of the project team.

Marketing and Business Development

  • Prepare technical responses to Requests for Proposal (RFPs).
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with key clients and manage key accounts.
  • Promote the client's services to existing and potential clients through cross-services marketing.

This is a full-time salaried position in a hybrid work environment. Candidates must be able to travel locally with occasional trips to other communities and provinces across Canada.

The following qualifications, experience, and competencies are considered major assets:

  • Equivalent of at least 5 years of prior experience in designing building electrical systems.
  • Professional Engineering (P.Eng) certification or eligibility to apply for P.Eng.
  • Considerable exposure to various types of facilities, with a preference for strong exposure to commercial- and institutional-type projects.
