Reporting to the Divisional Merchandise Manager, the Category Manager oversees a category of merchandise in totality to achieve yearly key performance goals in accordance with pre-defined metrics. These may include, but are not limited to; total sales, gross margin percent and dollars, GMROI, inventory turn, comp store sales, etc. They drive the product selection process and strategy for the global assortment for its complete life cycle in all channels of business, budget management, functional operating plans, vendor management, and alignment of cross functional teams. Ensures the category level analysis for product performance in all channels meets the expectation set forth by senior management. Owns the assortment planning, product lifecycle, and space planning for the category. Selects vendors and manages vendor relationships to maximize sales, profit, and negotiating purchasing and pricing. Responsible for driving the promotion plans for their product category including product and pricing for flyers, catalogues and the web. Aligns cross functional teams (planning, inventory, space planning, etc.) as it relates to buying, inventory strategies, and performance reviews. Provides leadership and direction to the pod which includes merchants, administrators and inventory analysts. This position is a hybrid role that allows for 2 days of remote work and 3 days in the office. The office is located at 25 De Beats Street, Winnipeg, MB.
