Responsibilities

Reporting to the executive director of the FQB, the main responsibilities are:

Trainings

  • Plan, develop, coordinate and lead the training of identified Quebec team's athletes in Valcartier.
  • Provide regular and proactive support and monitoring to identified athletes and coaches.
  • Plan, develop and coordinate Quebec team's camps in collaboration with high performance coaches and biathlon clubs.
  • Attend the Quebec Cups, Biathlon Canada Selections competitions (2) and the Nationals.

High Performance and Development Committee (HPDC)

  • Participate in the HPDC committee to recommend and implement actions to optimize support for athletes (High Performance Program, and Athlete Development Model) and coaches.
  • Work in collaboration with the FQB partners (among others, the l'Institut national sport du Québec -training plan and synergistic project, Excellence sportive – services offered and physical trainer), coaches and clubs in order to optimize the support and supervision of identified athletes.

Development

  • Meet regional clubs and respond to specific issues.
  • Follow up on identified athletes in the region in collaboration with coaches

Administration

  • In collaboration with the executive director, participate in various reporting of partners and the FQB.
  • Develop a virtual platform and share (or produce, when necessary) toolkits: books, articles, exercises, videos, etc.
  • Participate in updating specific content on social networks (Instagram, Facebook, etc.) and the FQB website in collaboration with the administrative and communication assistant. Attend meetings of the FQB board of directors at the executive director request.

Required skills

  • Hold the minimum NCCP certification – Competition Development / Level 3.
  • Demonstrate excellent technical and tactical expertise or experience in biathlon and/or cross-country skiing (be prepared to work, as applicable, with an associated shooting coach).
  • Have a good physical condition and cross-country skiing skills.
  • Demonstrate unifying leadership with athletes and coaches.
  • Be passionate about teaching and developing athletes.

Conditions of work

  • Permanent part-time position in Quebec.
  • Working hours: three days per week according to the activity calendar established by the FQB.
  • Remote work for administrative tasks.
  • Travels required in the region and within Canada.
  • Excellent spoken and written French, skills in English.
  • Work with computers: data analysis, video software, email, as well as Word, Excel and PowerPoint software.
  • Salary conditions will be determined based on skills and experience. Marginal benefits will be identified, in accordance with the FQB social benefits policy.
